From Tragedy to Transformation

In Honor of Katie Mathis

The mental health system failed Katie Mathis. When she died by suicide, the sheer anguish experienced by her father forever changed his life’s purpose. Determined to eliminate the pain, suffering and unnecessary deaths caused by anxiety, depression and PTSD, he founded Katie’s Way to provide more compassionate, evidence-based, holistic care for everyone.

Katie tried everything—medications, therapy, support groups. The system failed her. We needed something revolutionary.

Dr. Jeff Mathis

The Mission Takes Shape

From that profound loss came unstoppable purpose. Jeff assembled leading experts to build what Katie needed but never found: breakthrough treatments that actually work. Today, Katie's Way delivers the transformation that traditional care couldn't, while helping to ensure no family faces what Jeff's did.

  • Bring breakthrough treatments like Deep TMS to communities nationwide.
  • Eliminate barriers to access with same-day appointments and insurance support.
  • Create continuity of care for military families across PCS moves.
  • Expand access to all communities, recognizing that mental health challenges don't discriminate.
